The steel plate itself is incredibly stiff. Even if you were to use this with embedded magnets, I would not expect it to dimple much if at all.
PEI build surface is great as usual. Not much to say there.
The optional included magnet is quite strong. Since Mcmaster-Carr doesn't ship to Canada, this is probably the only way to get a decent-quality magnet here apart from buying a kit.
The adhesive attaching the PEI sheet to the steel itself is okay at best. I laser-cut the sheet down to size since I'm working with a nonstandard build volume; I then was able to test the adhesive strength on the leftovers from making two usable build plates.
The test results were not great. The PEI sheet doesn't easily lift off the plate, but once one corner is free, it peels away near-effortlessly. This isn't a huge issue, as you can simply remove the adhesive and apply a new PEI sheet with stronger glue if it does eventually fail - but I'd still like to see stronger glue from the factory.
